The World Cup winning Spain international came up through the Barcelona youth system before shining with Villarreal and earning himself a move to Liverpool.
Although he didn’t win much with the Reds, he topped the Premier League’s clean sheet table for three years in a row, though after Brendan Rodgers’ arrival he slipped behind Simon Mignolet in the pecking order.
After spending a year on loan in Naples, he joined Bayern to act as the club’s back-up to Manuel Neuer but he has now been released from his contract to allow him to join Napoli.
Reina is widely expected to become the first choice again at Napoli and he will be happy that he will be playing regular football again.
However he will have to cope without Champions League football with Napoli finishing behind Juventus, Roma and Lazio last season.
The Spaniard is still just 32 and for a goalkeeper that is relatively young and he could feasibly play for a number of years.
His international future is more uncertain though with David De Gea the first choice for Spain now and Iker Casillas still very much in the picture.
